Data we collect (summary)

This policy covers samabrains.com, Stories, the Store, the retired Prompt Optimizer, billing, and Samabrains OS. Depending on which product you use, we may collect:

• Account & contact: email address, name/avatar (when provided by Google Sign-in or you), membership and workspace status
• Product usage: Stories reading library (history, bookmarks, purchases), comments, and operational logs needed to run and secure the services. The Prompt Optimizer no longer accepts new prompts.
• Payments: order/membership records from Pesapal or Beacons (we do not store card, PayPal, or Mobile Money credentials)
• Samabrains OS connectors: OAuth tokens and connection metadata for tools you connect (including Google); content from those APIs only as needed to fulfill actions you or your agents request
• Device signals: basic browser/network signals to prevent free-plan abuse; cookie preferences for non-essential scripts

We use this data to provide and secure the products, process payments, and communicate about your account. We do not sell personal data or Google user data. Details by product follow below, including Limited Use for Google API data.

What we operate

• Website tools on samabrains.com. The Prompt Optimizer has been retired.
• Stories: editorial content with optional membership and per-story unlocks
• The Store at beacons.ai/samabrain for templates, books, and other products (checkout handled by Beacons)
• The retired SamaBrains Prompt Optimizer Chrome extension, which no longer generates prompts
• Samabrains OS "” a workspace-gated AI workspace where agents and apps act with tools you connect (including Google)
• Billing through Pesapal (Mobile Money, card, and related methods) for Stories membership, Plus, and OS workspaces

Samabrains OS and Google user data

When you connect Google inside Samabrains OS, Google's OAuth consent screen asks you to grant access to specific Google APIs (for example Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and/or BigQuery). Those grants are optional and granular: OS only requests scopes for the Google resources you choose to connect.

How we access, use, store, and share Google data

• Access: Our Google Gatekeeper Worker (samabrains-os-google on Cloudflare) receives OAuth tokens after you consent, then calls Google APIs on your behalf when you (or an agent you authorize) use a connected Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, or BigQuery resource.
• Use: Google user data is used only to provide the OS features you request "” for example reading or sending mail you authorize, opening documents you select, listing calendars you pick, or running BigQuery you initiate. We do not use Google user data for advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated product analytics.
• Store: OAuth refresh/access tokens and connection metadata are stored so your connectors keep working across sessions. Message, file, or query content is processed to fulfill the action you asked for and may appear in your OS workspace UI or logs you can see; we do not build a separate marketing database from Google content.
• Share: We do not sell Google user data. We do not transfer Google user data to other apps or advertisers. Data may be processed by our infrastructure providers (Cloudflare Workers and related Cloudflare services) solely to run Samabrains OS. Google remains the source of the underlying account data under Google's terms.

Limited Use (Google API Services User Data Policy)

• SamaBrains's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
• Google user data obtained through restricted or sensitive scopes is used only to provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in Samabrains OS.
• We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI/ML models, and we do not allow humans to read Google user data unless you give affirmative consent for a support case, it is necessary for security/compliance, or it is aggregated for operations in ways that do not identify you "” consistent with Limited Use.
• We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve Samabrains OS features (our hosting providers), to comply with law, or with your direction.

Revocation and deletion

• Disconnect Google anytime in Samabrains OS (Connections / Gatekeepers). That stops new API calls with your grant.
• You can also revoke access in your Google Account permissions.
• To request deletion of stored Google connection tokens or related OS records, email info@samabrains.com from the same address you use in OS. We delete or anonymize those records except where we must retain them for security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.

Prompt Optimizer (retired)

• The Prompt Optimizer website tool and Chrome extension have been retired. They no longer accept prompts or generate results.
• We do not collect new prompts for the Optimizer. Older prompts that were already processed are not used to run the retired tool.
• Legacy Pro license keys purchased before retirement remain valid until their expiry date but are not required.

Website tools

• We may store a random local id in your browser so the product can work reliably.
• If you subscribe to SamaBrains Plus, your membership status may be stored locally after checkout. Plus is for member stories. The Prompt Optimizer has been retired.
• Legacy Pro license keys (purchased before standalone Pro was retired) may still be stored locally if you paste or save one.
• The Prompt Optimizer no longer sends prompts to our servers.
• Cookie preferences for non-essential scripts (including advertising on free Stories) are stored locally after you choose Accept or Decline on the cookie banner.

Stories and reader accounts

• You may sign in with email one-time codes or Google to comment, bookmark, unlock paid stories, or manage a membership.
• We store your email (and name/avatar when provided by Google), notification preferences, reading library (history, bookmarks, purchases), and membership status.
• Claps, comments, and bookmarks are tied to your account. Comments may be moderated before they appear publicly.
• Free stories may show Google AdSense ads for readers without an active membership or story purchase.
• You can export your reader data or delete your account from Account.

Chrome extension

Stored on your device

• Optional verified email and sign-in status if you choose to verify
• A random local id used to run the extension
• Settings you choose (category, tone, format, and related options)
• Billing currency preference (UGX or USD)
• Legacy Pro license key, if you saved one before standalone Pro was retired

What the extension accesses

• On ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini: the page composer text, to Optimize and optionally replace (or send) the result if you enable that setting
• Text you select when using the right-click "Optimize with SamaBrains" menu
• It does not read your browsing history or access unrelated sites

What we send and process

• Optimize requests to https://samabrains.com are no longer accepted. The extension has been retired.
• We may check Plus or legacy Pro status when you save a license key or sign in
• For Plus and legacy Pro, we store order or license details needed to honor memberships and legacy keys
• We may keep operational logs needed to run and secure the service

Payments (Pesapal)

• SamaBrains Plus ($8/month), legacy stories membership, and per-story unlocks ($2) are processed by Pesapal. Card and Mobile Money details are handled by Pesapal, not stored on SamaBrains servers.
• We keep the order, license, membership, and purchase records needed to grant access and honor cancellations.
• Plus is for member stories. The Prompt Optimizer has been retired. Legacy Pro keys remain valid until their expiry date but are not required.
• Stories membership can be cancelled from Account; access continues until the end of the paid period.
• Store product checkout and delivery are handled by Beacons (PayPal or Stripe) under Beacons' privacy terms. We do not receive your card or PayPal credentials.
• Optional email or phone you provide at checkout is used for billing contact with Pesapal.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your prompts, email addresses, or Google user data
• We do not use the Chrome extension to track your general browsing
• We do not store your payment card or Mobile Money credentials
• We do not use Google user data obtained via OAuth for advertising or for training generalized AI models
